Frequently asked questions

Straight answers on the idea, the engagements, and how to begin.

What is the Execution Gap?

It is the distance between strategic intent and realized outcomes. Organizations rarely fail because they chose the wrong strategy or the wrong technology. They fail in the long stretch between deciding what to do and actually doing it, where governance, decision rights, priorities, sponsorship, and behavior either align or quietly come apart. That distance is where most transformation value disappears.

What does BoydNorth actually do?

BoydNorth advises senior executives on closing that gap: governance, operating model, decision rights, sponsorship, and adoption. The work runs on the 5A Framework, a repeatable leadership and execution system, rather than on a menu of consulting hours.

How is this different from a consulting firm or a systems integrator?

Integrators deploy technology and hand it over at go-live. Change-management firms bolt on communications near the end. BoydNorth is an executive advisory: it advises the leaders accountable for the outcome, designs the governance and operating model first, and stays engaged through adoption, where most efforts quietly unwind. It is judgment and a system, not staff augmentation.

What engagements are available?

Four. The Execution Gap Assessment, a fixed-fee diagnostic. The Transformation Sprint, the signature end-to-end engagement. Sustainment, post-launch reinforcement. And Speaking & Advisory, for keynotes, executive workshops, and advisory sessions.

What does the Execution Gap Assessment cost?

It is a fixed fee of $2,997. It delivers a current-state diagnostic, a quantified value case, a prioritized roadmap, and a follow-up working session. For many clients it is the natural on-ramp to a full Sprint.

Do you guarantee outcomes?

No honest advisor guarantees outcomes, because no advisor fully controls a client's organization. What BoydNorth commits to is a clear-eyed assessment, a sound operating design, and accountability for the work, with progress measured against a baseline rather than against activity.

Who do you work with?

Senior leaders who own an outcome: chief executives, operating and information officers, human-capital leaders, boards, and private-equity operating partners, across complex private-sector institutions.

Is there a conflict with government employment?

No. BoydNorth is independent and all work is provided in a personal capacity, separate from any government employment. It does not serve government agencies or conflicted parties and does not use nonpublic information, government resources, or official position.

How do we start?

Start a conversation, or take the two-minute fit check to find the most useful first step. If you already know the shape of the problem, the Execution Gap Assessment is the simplest place to begin.
